What psychotherapy is like with me…

Counseling sessions are unique to you because each one of us experiences life and its challenges (whether depression, anxiety, big Trauma or small trauma) differently. Therapy is not and cannot be “one size fits all”. My emphasis is on being present, consistent, respectful, accepting, and genuine.

I am in the “here and now” yet I am ready to explore the past if you are. I  take an active role in understanding you and your unique circumstance so that I can help you help yourself by providing you with tools that will help you a lifetime. I am compassionate for at times you cannot  find compassion anywhere else.

I am here for you.

I am a person centered therapist who incorporates brain-body science based interventions to get you to be unstuck in your old patterns and give you a roadmap to return to balance, control and safety. I believe that you have the resources  to tackle your life challenges: we work together to discover your strengths and source of motivations. During this journey, I listen without making premature suggestions, interpretations and never assume because no one, despite their struggles, experience life the same way. I walk this journey with you . I  tailor my technique(s) to meet your needs so that you are provided with the best treatment plan.

I specialize in working with trauma survivors, depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder, mood disorders, ADHD,ADD, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, seasonal affect disorder, grief, divorce, childhood emotional neglect, bipolar disorders. I am EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness and Meditation Trained. I am also a state certified sexual assault crisis counselor in CT.
